|Diana’s vital gift
PRINCE William’s girlfriend need not worry about comparisons between her and Princess Diana (“Please don’t compare me with Diana, pleads Kate”, Sunday Express, May 14).
Diana was a one- off – the likes of which we shall never see again. Her memory will be preserved as the devoted mother of William and Harry.
Diana’s legacy means that Kate will never have to endure the isolation, jealousy, resentment and hatred from the people who should have ‘been there’ for her.
Surely the Royal Family has learnt that lesson – which will mean that the wife of Diana’s son will not have to endure the pain that she did.
Be yourself, Kate
ACCORDING to your report, it seems that Prince William’s girlfriend, Kate Middleton, already has ideas above her station.
Being compared to William’s much-missed and still-loved mother, Diana, must be a figment of her own imagination as nobody I know has drawn any such comparison.
Of course she is her own person and must follow her own heart in what she decides to take on, whether one day married to William or not. Who would expect otherwise?
Diana was unique. Get on with your own life, Kate.
You are lucky that royal attitudes have changed since Diana joined ‘The Firm’ and you are not likely to suffer the same indifference, neglect and petty jealousies, not to mention the humiliation and misery brought upon you by your husband.
Diana, Princess of Wales is and always will be The People's Princess.
