The investigation into Princess Diana's death has been plunged into chaos by French officials refusing to answer crucial questions

The Article also says that the European court for Human rights is heavily pressuring the French and Uk authorities to speed up their investigations and especialy the French authorities to stop puting obstacles in the inquiry. The French should have given all their infos until February 6 but they asked for an extension until April 6.The European Court of Human rights action is independent to that of the British Inquiry and it seems the French are expecting the MI6 to back up all their stories in order to hide any cover up in their investigation.

Alot of things had been said here and there but i know that all will never be revealed. It's just to keep suspense and stalling of time, pubilicity again and never the truth. It sells the papers but what good does it do when it never give the poor woman her own right of justice? It has never been given when she is alive and now that she's dead, they are still doing this to her, when will it all finally ends? Never, i suppose.

Let us all remember her in memorable ways not selling news again for own profit. Like Marilyn Monroe, her death will always be mystery and be brought upon case reopening again in 10 years time, what's the point? Rolling Eyes

DIANA’S DEATH: PANIC AS TRUTH IS REVEALED
Daily Express
20 Feb 2006

By Peter Allen and Mark Reynolds

THE investigation into the death of Princess Diana has been plunged into chaos by the refusal of French officials to answer crucial questions.

BLUNDERS: The French have plunged the Diana inquiry into chaos

British experts are frustrated at the muddle and incompetence of the Paris authorities, who are said to be in a panic that their blunders will be shown to lie at the heart of the mystery. Some sources close to the investigation have even accused key French figures of colluding with security services, including MI6, to suppress vital evidence. One said: “The situation has got completely out of hand.

‘The French are all running around like headless chickens’

Everyone is running about like a headless chicken but no progress is being made
whatsoever.

“People in France are seriously worried that some difficult questions will have to be
answered if the investigation gets to the bottom of Diana’s death and what caused it.”

The confusion comes as a deadline aimed at speeding up the hunt for the truth has been put back two months.

The Daily Express can reveal that the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg had originally expected crucial questions to be answered by February 6.

French officials were unable to meet that deadline and secret high-level negotiations were carried out to find a compromise.

Now, the lawyers representing the French authorities have won an extension of the deadline until April 6.

Privately, however, French officials admit they have little chance of honestly answering the questions that will be put to them by that date – because the original investigation into the Paris crash which killed the Princess and her lover Dodi Fayed in August 1997 was so poorly conducted.

One source said: “There is a real sense of panic that we will be unable to answer any of the questions because there is insufficient documentation.”

Answers demanded from the French include: Why did it take so long for Diana to reach hospital?

Why did pathologists break French law by allowing Diana’s body to be embalmed, so making pregnancy tests invalid?

Why were blood tests, which claimed to show her driver Henri Paul was drunk, never verified independently?

Why has potentially crucial CCTV film of the crash site never been made available? Such is the seriousness with which the Strasbourg court views the case that it has been fast-tracked through what is normally an extremely protracted process.

Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi’s father, said of the ruling: “This is a huge development and a massive breakthrough which will finally allow us to get to the truth of what happened on that night in Paris.

“This is what I have been striving for for the past eight years. The French authorities didn’t carry out a proper investigation and I am prepared to put all my wealth and resources into showing that Princess Diana and Dodi were murdered and there has been a massive cover-up.”

An official French inquiry Daily Express concluded that Henri Paul was drunk and speeding in a car he did not normally drive when he lost control.

Sources close to the investigation say that the French are doing “everything they can” to make sure that verdict is not challenged.

One said: “They don’t want to end up being proved wrong.

“They will do everything they can to stick to their original stories, up to and including colluding with other agencies who were involved in the events surrounding Diana’s tragic death.

“This includes making contact with French and British security agencies, including MI6, to make sure their stories square up.”

Harrods owner Mr Al Fayed has always insisted that his son Monday February 20 2006 and Diana were murdered. He claims that the couple were expecting a baby and that the British establishment did not think this acceptable.

Speculation was fuelled by a letter in which Diana said she feared she would die in a car crash and that the brakes would be tampered with.

Mr Al Fayed petitioned the European Court late last year under human rights legislation which guarantees everybody the right to life.

His lawyers successfully argued that the deaths were mysterious and that relatives of the deceased had a legal right to a proper investigation.

The ruling calls on the French to answer all questions as “a matter of urgency”.

The new evidence is meant to be made available to British detectives taking part in Operation Paget, the £4million inquiry into Diana’s death led by former Scotland Yard Commissioner Lord Stevens.

The inquiry, due to report next year, was ordered by the Royal Coroner in January 2005.

An inquest into Princess Diana’s death will take place once it is completed.
